On the way to Serigev Posad, professional tour guide will tell you why this city is famous throughout the country, about the historical events associated with its main monastery the Holy Trinity Lavra, about the founder Sergei Radonezh and about the uniqueness of this monastery. Before visiting the Lavra, we will make a stop at the observation deck. From here you have a magnificent view of the 17th century monastery and the city. Here artists paint pictures and tourists take memorable pictures.
Further, the local guide will conduct a sightseeing tour of the Holy Trinity St. Sergiev Lavra - a unique monument of fortification architecture of the 16-17th centuries, the largest active male monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Our program also includes a visit to the bell tower. The bell tower of the Trinity-Sergiev Lavra is one of the highest in Russia. It has a unique ensemble of bells, which includes the oldest active bell in Russia (1421) and the heaviest active bell in the Christian world (“Tsar Bell”, 72 tons).

Tour of the monastery is conducted by a local guide in English, French or German. This is an active male monastery, therefore, we ask to respect their rules and follow basic dress code: Women should wear a scarf or a hat and cover shoulders. It is advisable to wear a knee-long or longer skirts/dresses. Men should wear trousers or jeans (not shorts). It is advisable not to wear sportswear and take off your hat when entering churches.

On the way back to Moscow, we will make a stop at the VDNKh park. You accompanying guide will finish her program in front of the main entrance of the park. She will tell about this unique complex and point out the most interesting objects. You will visit the park on your own.

When is the best time to start / depart on this tour?
Best time to depart to Sergiev Posad is between 9am - 11am. Even in winter time, it gives enough time to see places in day light.
We do not recommend to do this tour on Friday or Sunday due to heavy traffic leaving/returning to Moscow.
How do I pay for this tour?
Unfortunately, due to sanctions currently we can not accept credit cards of non-Russian banks.
A small deposit (5000 rubles or $100) must be paid at least one day prior to tour. Our representative will collect deposit at your hotel at agreed time.
Remaining balance will need to be paid to the driver upon return to hotel.

For group 1 to 5 people - we use minivan Mercedes-Benz Vito/Viano.
For group 6 to 7 people - we use minibus Mercedes-Benz Mini Sprinter.

After receiving deposit, we will give you mobile number of your tour guide.
On the day of the tour, your personal guide will meet you in the lobby of your hotel at agreed time with an EXPLORUS greeting board.
